More Nog Shenanigans

This is a video that Nog (our elf on a shelf) left for our sons one morning. Our version has Christmas music to it, but for copyright reasons, I can't post the music on here. But at any rate; making this was so much fun! My husband and I (and a couple of our friends) had a blast wandering around town creating a story of Nog's night out. It takes more effort to create this for the kids, but the reaction our kids had made it absolutely worth it!

*Funny tidbit: while we were waiting in line at the carousel, I brought Nog out of my purse to get a picture. Without even thinking of the other kids around me (my kids weren't there so I was completely out of mommy mode), I held him up for a picture. Suddenly, from behind me, I hear a kid gasp. "Mommy! She's touching the elf!" I froze, feeling absolutely foolish for not even thinking of what I was doing in front of other children. Noting the obvious anger in the mom's voice as she oh-too-loudly answered back in my direction: "Well CLEARLY her elf lost his magic because she's touching him!"

...busted...

So what did I do? In a panic I stuffed the elf back into my purse. Bad move.

"Mommy! She just shoved him in her purse!!!"

Now I'd done it. I tried to think if there was any way I could save the magic for these kids, but I couldn't think of any grand idea. So I decided to leave the explaining up to their own parents. I'm sure that night I was going to be labeled an elf kid-napper in their household, but I was okay being vilified if it saved the magic for their kids. What a bonehead mistake I made! Admittedly, I toyed with the idea of turning around with an evil grin on my face, cackling at the children while loudly declaring I was the Ice Queen: bounty hunter of elves, destroyer of Christmas magic and cheer, collecting the magic from all the elves to put an end to Christmas once and for all!...But I decided that wouldn't go over well with their parents. So, embarrassed avoidance it was!

Other than that one hiccup, the rest of the trek around town was great. ;)
